Safedge Profiles Custom Made to Order

The team here at More Control would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Christmas and a very prosperous 2010.

Whilst most of us are enjoying the well earned break over the holiday period the new EU Machinery Directive comes into force bringing even more stringent machine health and safety regulations in the new year.

With this in mind did you know that as well as supplying Safedge components, More Control can also supply assembled Safedge units to customer's individual requirements?

This type of sensitive edging system is ideal as a safety sensor in applications such as power operated doors/roller doors, moving machinery beds (rollers) etc. It can provide a continuous line of high sensitivity touch sensing along or around practically anything.

Safedge uses a combination of non conductive rubber and flexible wire cored conductive rubber bonded together to form a variety of perfectly flexible and energy absorbing profiles with active corners. It is easy to fit and totally flexible so it keeps bouncing back into shape even withstanding repeated heavy crushing forces. There are also no rigid parts to cause fatigue failures.

A Control Unit can be supplied with the Safedge which will give guaranteed isolation of machine power if anything presses the profile. It will also initiate power isolation in the event of component failure, if the profile or connecting wire is severed.

The Safedge can be supplied in many shapes or lengths in accordance with customer's drawings. A range of accessories is available for end termination and corner joints with a choice of several different sensing profiles.
